Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Business Intelligence & Data Engineer to join an established medium-sized business based in the Southampton / Portsmouth area, Hampshire. This is a hybrid role with at least 3 days per week in the office.

    Design, develop, and maintain scalable SQL databases and data pipelines to support business intelligence activities.

    Build and optimise Power BI dashboards and reports to enable data-driven decision making across teams.

    Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • \n

    Ensure data accuracy and integrity through rigorous testing and validation procedures.

  • \n

    Automate data workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

  • \n

    Monitor and troubleshoot data systems, ensuring optimal performance and resolving issues promptly.

    Participate in data governance and security initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and policies.

This role would suit a driven BI & Data Engineer with excellent SQL Server / SQL skills and a passion for turning data into actionable insights.

    Proven experience with SQL development, including database design and optimisation.

    Strong knowledge of Power BI, with a demonstrated ability to create impactful dashboards and reports.

    Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

    Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present insights clearly.

    Good communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

    Self-motivated and proactive with a keen eye for detail and quality.

This BI & Data Engineer role is paying £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience plus flexible working options, and the opportunity to contribute to an organisation committed to leveraging data for strategic growth.
