Job Description

Role:HR People Specialist. Full Time, Regular, In Person.

\n

Location: Assigned every 3-5 years at an RAF Unit in the UK (preferences taken into consideration)*

\n

Your role as a HR People Specialist in the RAF will be diverse, exciting, and highly rewarding. Wherever the RAF is operational, there is a team of People Specialists ready to provide a professional service to personnel of all specialisations. In the People Specialisation you will be undertaking roles such as:

    \n
  • Advising on and administering pay and allowances, movements, travel and accommodation
  • \n
  • Processing performance appraisals
  • \n
  • Preparing RAF personnel for deployment to operations and military exercises and supporting them throughout, often deploying with and working alongside them
  • \n
  • Providing Welfare support to all personnel in the UK and overseas
  • \n
  • Administering Service Discipline procedures
  • \n
  • Managing career assignments in the UK and overseas, enhancing personnel employment pathways
  • \n
  • Analytics & Business Intelligence
  • \n
  • Executive Support
  • \n
  • Business Support
  • \n
  • Employment Policy
  • \n
  • Accounting & Finance
  • \n
  • Other roles may include Recruitment, Instructing/ Training and many more.

Salary:Pay: Starting salary £27,200 including benefits (pay increments yearly, on promotion and Government pay review increases in line with cost of living) + £5,250 Bonus once qualified

\n

Desirable Qualifications:

\n

GCSE or equivalent at Grade C/4 (Scottish National 5 at Grade C) or above in English Language and Mathematics/Application of Mathematics are desirable.

\n

During Phase 1 training, Recruits must complete Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths at no cost to the Recruit unless they can prove the qualification is already held. This is a mandated requirement to be able to proceed to Phase 2 training.

\n

Joining age - 16-47 (applications can be made from 15 years and 9 months)

\n

Other entry requirements:

\n

You must be a UK, Republic of Ireland, a commonwealth citizen since birth (with 'right to work' immigration status) or holder of dual UK/other nationality.

\n

Whether or not you were born in the UK, you should have resided there for 5 years immediately preceding your application but candidates with a minimum of 3 years will be considered,

\n

Apprenticeship/ Training:

\n

Training is 8 weeks at MOD Worthy Down (following Basic Training) and personnel will gain a Foundation Certificate in People Practice by undertaking a CIPD Level 3 qualification.

\n
