FINANCE OFFICER
\nUP TO £35,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
\nSOUTH WEST LONDON
\nTEMP TO PERM ROLE – FULL TIME-OFFICE BASED
\nI am currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to join a busy organisation within the Education sector. This role is initially being offered on a temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has strong accounts payable and financial administration experience. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
\nKey Responsibilities:

- To work as part of the Finance team to support the timely and accurate processing of orders, invoices and payments and the monthly reconciliation process \n
- To be accountable for the computerised Xero system in order to:\n
- \n
- Raise purchase orders and place with suppliers once approved \n
- Match invoices with purchase orders and process for payment \n
- Set up new suppliers \n
- Create weekly BACS payment runs \n
- Assist with monthly reconciliation of non-staffing budget expenditure with the schools’ bank account \n
- Process petty cash payments \n
- Process journals for printing costs and IT resources ½ termly \n
- Produce appropriate charges for curriculum and administrative stationery provided to departments \n
- Produce ½ termly statements for budget holders \n
\n - Liaise with suppliers and budget holders in the above regard \n
- Investigate and resolve any queries as a result of the above \n
- Support the Interim Finance Director with the administration of specific accounts \n
- Relevant filing and record keeping \n
Administration
\n- \n
- As directed by the Finance Manager/Director of Finance, provide administrative support to facilitate the work of the school’s administrative function. \n
- To undertake office administration tasks such as taking telephone calls and enquiries; sending communications home; issuing lunch cards \n
- To assist the Interim Finance Director with ad hoc tasks as and when required. \n
Person Specification:
\n- \n
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Finance Assistant, Accounts Payable or similar finance position within the education sector. \n
- Proven experience using both PS Financials and Xero. \n
- Experience processing invoices, purchase orders, supplier payments and reconciliations. \n
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data \n
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. \n
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. \n
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with stakeholders. \n
- A high level of discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately. \n
