Assistant Tax Manager salary up to £65K medium sized law firm based in Chancery Lane

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced assistant Tax Manager.

\n

Reporting into the Tax Partner of this well known corporate tax team you will be assisting managers with the following tasks:

    \n
  • Undertaking research on specific areas of UK tax legislation, HMRC practice, and relevant case law.
  • \n
  • Data analysis, including use of excel spreadsheets to analyse data and produce computations.
  • \n
  • Prime document review – undertake detailed reviews of client prime documents, highlight concerns and areas of clarification, prepare synopsis of issues and steps to remedy.
  • \n
  • Assist with tax advisory reports/letters/memos/emails to be delivered to senior members of the group.
  • \n
  • Client and third-party services provider management – attendance at meetings, taking instructions in writing or verbally, resolving and answering client or third-party service provider questions.
  • \n
  • Assisting with the preparation of marketing materials and liaison with the marketing team on production of copy and documents for external use.
  • \n
  • General assistance to advisory and compliance workstreams.
  • \n

You will have experience in a similar role and be able to provide high levels of client service at all times.

\n

In order to secure this role you will also need to have the following:

\n
    \n
  • Educated to degree level, minimum of 2:1, preferably Bsc or BA
  • \n
  • CTA or ACA/ACCA qualified
  • \n
  • Experience of the UK tax compliance process, including exposure to a small portfolio of clients. Experience of tax return preparation and ideally, completing first reviews of tax returns.
  • \n
  • Experience of preparing tax advisory reports – ideally with an Owner Managed Businesses (OMB) focus.
  • \n
  • Experience with international issues for private clients also desirable, including the utilisation of non-UK structures for UK resident and non-resident clients.
  • \n
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
  • \n
  • Highly organised.
  • \n
  • Strong IT skills (in particular Excel).
  • \n
  • AI experience.
  • \n
\n

Salary is up to £65K depending on experience.
