Senior Product Safety Engineer

A specialist engineering business operating within the defence sector is seeking an experienced Senior Product Safety Engineer to take a leading role in Product and System Safety Assurance across complex projects.The Role\n

• Lead Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments and Safety Case development.
\n
• Conduct Hazard Identification and analysis, maintaining relevant Hazard Logs.
\n
• Develop and work to Safety Management Systems and Plans.
\n
• Produce technical reports, presentations and safety documentation.
\n
• Support bids, proposals and internal/external Safety Working Groups.
\n

About You\n

\n
• Proven Product/System Safety Engineering experience, ideally within Defence.
\n
• Experience with Safety Cases, Hazard Analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
\n
• Knowledge of DEF STAN 00-056, DSA02-DMR and IEC 61508.
\n
• Engineering, Mathematics or Science degree (or equivalent experience).
\n
• SC Clearance or ability to attain, with UK nationality and a full driving licence.
\n

Desirable\n

\n
• Previous maritime or submarine experience.
\n
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
\n
• Experience managing, mentoring or developing engineering personnel.
\n
• Knowledge of CE/UKCA compliance.
\n
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
\n
