Accounts Assistant (Accounts Payable)Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 per annum Location: Birmingham (Hybrid: 2-3 days in office)Our client is a leading, large-scale business services organisation with an extensive national and international operational footprint. With an annual turnover in excess of £100m, this established and dynamic business is seeking a proactive, diligent Accounts Assistant (AP) to join their Birmingham finance team. The Role Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the transactional accounts payable process, ensuring accurate processing of subcontractor and overhead supplier invoices while supporting cash flow and month-end accounting efforts. Key Responsibilities:\n

  • Processing, posting, and allocating subcontractor (cost of sales) and supplier overhead invoices alongside purchase order management.
  • \n
  • Preparing supplier payment runs and conducting regular supplier statement and bank reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Collaborating with internal teams and department leads to resolve payment queries and support working capital management.
  • \n
Key Skills & Experience Required \n
    \n
  • Background & Education: Proven purchase ledger administration and bank reconciliation experience in fast-paced operational environments, ideally backed by an AAT qualification (or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities and hands-on experience using modern accounting systems such as Sage Intacct.
  • \n
  • Core Competencies: Excellent organisation, strong written and verbal communication, and effective time management for meeting operational deadlines.
