The Supply Register is working in partnership with the Odyssey Collaborative Trust to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Derby.

We are seeking compassionate, patient, and dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

\n

Opportunities are available on a day to day, short-term, and longer-term basis.

About the Role\n

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with a range of additional needs within the classroom and through targeted interventions.

\n

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and build positive relationships within school.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
  • \n
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities
  • \n
  • Support the implementation of individual support plans
  • \n
  • Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and engagement
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
  • \n
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • \n

  • Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants
  • \n
  • Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with additional needs
  • \n
  • Support workers, care workers, and youth workers with relevant experience
  • \n
  • Graduates interested in developing a career in education or SEN support
  • \n
What We're Looking For\n
    \n
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (desirable)
  • \n
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • \n
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • \n
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN
  • \n
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • \n
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
  • \n
