Pay: £18.85 per hour PAYE
\nLocation: Covering North Northamptonshire, predominantly Corby and Kettering
\nLength: 3 Months (ongoing)
\nHours: 37 hours per week
\nMon-Thu: 8:30am - 4:30pm (30 min break)
\nFri: 8:30am - 4:00pm (30 min break)
\n\n\nOpus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for experienced Electricians to join their Housing Services team carrying out essential electrical works across social housing properties throughout the North Northamptonshire area.
\nThis is a varied field-based role working within both occupied and void properties, carrying out electrical maintenance, repair, and installation work across a range of settings as well as testing and inspection. The majority of work will be based across Corby and Kettering.
\n As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include:\n- \n
- Carrying out electrical remedial works within occupied and void social housing properties \n
- Undertaking testing and inspection activities to ensure compliance and safety standards are met \n
- Completing rewiring works where required \n
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults efficiently \n
- Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard in line with current regulations \n
- Accurately completing relevant documentation and certification \n
- Delivering excellent customer service when working within tenants' homes \n
- Participating in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota \n
- \n
- Mileage paid at 45p per mile when using your own vehicle \n
- Company vehicle may be available where required \n
- Own standard power tools beneficial \n
- Call-out rota: 1 week in every 4 weeks \n
- Ongoing contract opportunity with immediate start available \n
Applicants must hold and be able to provide proof of:

- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent) \n
- City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition \n
- City & Guilds 2391 Test & Inspection (or equivalent) \n
- \n
- Proven experience in testing and inspection \n
- Experience working within domestic or social housing environments is desirable \n
- Full UK Driving Licence \n
- Willingness to undertake CAT B Asbestos Awareness Training (or provide current certification) \n
- \n
- Strong technical electrical knowledge \n
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites \n
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills \n
- Good communication and customer service skills \n
- Commitment to safe working practices and compliance standards \n
- Reliability, flexibility, and a proactive approach to work \n
Interviews will be held face-to-face at the Council depot in Corby or Kettering.
