Accountant

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a hands-on role where you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function. Ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the ledgers and providing valuable financial insight to support business decisions. The position would suit an experienced accountant who enjoys working independently and can communicate your findings and suggestions. • Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flow reports.
\n
• Manage all aspects of the sales and purchase ledger.
\n
• Oversee supplier payments, customer invoicing, credit control and debtor reporting.
\n
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
\n
• Monitor financial transactions, including multi-currency accounting.
\n
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and support year-end accounting processes.
\n
• Manage Companies House filings and financial compliance requirements.
\n
• Monitor project budgets, purchase orders and contractual income.
\n
• Process employee expenses and provide wider support across finance operations.
\n
• Produce financial information and analysis to support senior management decision-making.
\n

About YouTo be considered for this opportunity, you will have:\n

\n
• Previous experience in a similar role
\n
• Experience of working as the sole person in finance would be beneficial but not essential.
\n
• The ability to manage a varied workload and work autonomously.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
\n
• Happy and able to manage the ledgers through to Management account reporting and liaising with auditors
\n
• AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or qualified by experience).
\n
