Financial Accountant

12-Month Fixed Term Contract | Hybrid Working | 40 Hours Per Week

Robert Half are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) looking to develop their technical accounting expertise within a supportive and collaborative finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting audit processes and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

• Manage the fixed asset register, including capitalisation, depreciation and disposals.
\n
• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and lease accounting.
\n
• Produce weekly cash flow reporting and analysis.
\n
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
\n
• Reconcile intercompany balances and support group reporting requirements.
\n
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
\n
• Prepare VAT returns and Corporation Tax workings.
\n
• Support statutory accounts preparation and year-end activities.
\n
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
\n
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, controls and internal policies.
\n
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support.
\n
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
\n
• Support finance transformation and system improvement initiatives.
\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Part-qualified, finalist or qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA status.
\n
• Experience within a financial accounting, audit or broader finance role.
\n
• A strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
\n
• Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.
\n
• Strong Excel capabilities and experience with finance systems.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
\n
