\nCover People are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Wigan supporting pupils aged 11–19 with a range of additional needs. The school provides a highly personalised and nurturing learning environment where every learner is encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally, with a strong focus on preparing students for adulthood and independent living.
\nThe Role:

- Support students with SEND and additional SEND needs in lessons and around the school. \n
- Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and confidence. \n
- Work alongside teachers to deliver personalised learning and intervention activities. \n
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation. \n
- Encourage independence, resilience and personal development. \n
- Liaise with teaching staff and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs. \n
The Ideal Candidate:

- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour. \n
- A calm, patient and resilient approach. \n
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. \n
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed. \n
- Team Teach training is desirable but not essential. \n
