Job Description

Senior Financial Planning Administrator\n

Location: Sproston, Cheshire

\n

Salary: £32,000–£35,000

\n

Working arrangements: Potential for flexible hours and hybrid working

\n

An established independent financial planning firm is looking for an experienced Financial Planning Administrator to join its close-knit team in Sproston.

\n

This is a hands-on administration role for someone who can confidently manage a broad range of pensions and investment cases, take ownership of more complex work and provide guidance to a colleague who is continuing to develop.

\n

You won’t be moving away from day-to-day administration into a management position. Instead, you’ll become a trusted and experienced member of the team, helping maintain high standards while ensuring client work is completed accurately and efficiently.

The role\n

Your responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Managing pensions, investments and protection administration from submission through to completion
  • \n
  • Handling more complex client administration cases
  • \n
  • Processing new business, withdrawals, top-ups, fund switches and portfolio rebalances
  • \n
  • Obtaining illustrations and preparing application documentation
  • \n
  • Gathering information from providers and checking it for accuracy
  • \n
  • Preparing valuations, client review packs and meeting documentation
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate client records on Intelliflo and provider platforms
  • \n
  • Liaising with clients, advisers, providers and outsourced support
  • \n
  • Monitoring outstanding work and progressing cases within agreed timescales
  • \n
  • Supporting a less experienced administrator with technical queries and more complex cases
  • \n
  • Sharing knowledge and helping improve administrative processes
  • \n
  • Assisting with basic suitability and no-change letters where appropriate
  • \n
\n

Research and full recommendation report writing are currently outsourced, so this is primarily an administration position rather than a paraplanning role.

About you\n

You will need:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within a financial planning or IFA administration role
  • \n
  • Experience processing a broad range of pensions and investment business
  • \n
  • Strong working knowledge of provider platforms
  • \n
  • Experience using Intelliflo Office
  • \n
  • The ability to manage more complex cases independently
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • \n
  • Confidence communicating with clients, providers and colleagues
  • \n
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support someone who is still developing
  • \n
\n

Previous mentoring or training experience would be useful, but formal management experience is not required.

Salary and benefits\n
    \n
  • Salary of £30,000–£35,000
  • \n
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • \n
  • Bank holidays in addition
  • \n
  • Health Shield cashback plan
  • \n
  • Gifted half-day off for your birthday
  • \n
  • Discretionary wellbeing gifts and vouchers
  • \n
  • Potential for flexible hours and hybrid working
  • \n
\n

There may be an opportunity to develop towards a trainee paraplanner position in the future. However, experienced career administrators who want to remain within administration will be equally valued.
