Bookkeeper

We're looking for an organised and motivated Bookkeeper to join our expanding team in Jesmond.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to further develop their career within a supportive accountancy practice.

Working as part of our Outsourcing team, you'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management information and supporting the smooth delivery of day-to-day accounting services. The role also offers genuine opportunities to broaden your technical knowledge, with the potential to develop into accounts preparation for the right candidate.

The Role

• As a Bookkeeper, you'll be responsible for:
\n
• Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records.
\n
• Preparing monthly management accounts.
\n
• Completing VAT returns accurately and on time.
\n
• Processing financial information using cloud accounting software.
\n
• Reconciling bank and control accounts.
\n
• Supporting the wider team with day-to-day accounting activities.
\n
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
\n
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
\n

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

\n
• Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice or similar environment.
\n
• Experience preparing management accounts and VAT returns.
\n
• Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
\n
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
\n
• A proactive approach with good problem-solving skills.
\n
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
\n
• A willingness to learn, develop and take on new responsibilities.
\n
