Legal Cashier
Job Description
I'm currently supporting a well-established global law firm with the appointment of an experienced Legal Cashier to join a busy cashiering team. This is a strong opportunity for someone detail-focused to contribute to accurate, efficient and compliant legal finance operations in a fast-paced environment.
\nWorking closely with partners, fee earners and colleagues across Finance, the successful candidate will support day-to-day legal cashiering activity while maintaining high standards of service, accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Respond to internal queries professionally, providing a high-quality service to partners, fee earners and colleagues across the firm. \n
- Maintain cash flow forecast balances across office and client bank accounts. \n
- Complete daily bank reconciliations for office and client accounts, including the reconciliation and posting of official fees. \n
- Post multi-currency supplier disbursement invoices accurately and efficiently. \n
- Manage the cancellation of outdated office and client account cheques, including related follow-up procedures. \n
- Support senior legal cashiering colleagues with client account transactions, including manual deposit interest calculations and postings. \n
- Allocate daily cash receipts across office and client accounts in multiple currencies, ensuring full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal policies. \n
- Post partner drawings and distributions, including preparation and upload of bank payment files. \n
- Prepare month-end bank reconciliation summaries across office and client accounts. \n
- Post and balance supplier invoices relating to legal disbursements. \n

- Highly organised, with the ability to manage deadlines, competing priorities and a busy workload. \n
- A proactive, service-focused mindset and the ability to work well as part of a collaborative Finance team. \n
- Confident Excel skills, alongside a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. \n
- Strong attention to detail, with a consistent, accurate and methodical approach to work. \n
- Previous experience working within a legal cashiering, accounts or law firm finance environment is desirable. \n
- Good working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules, compliance requirements and internal financial controls. \n
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with partners, fee earners and Finance colleagues.
