\nA highly respected regional law firm in Tunbridge Wells is seeking an experienced Senior Private Client Paralegal to join its successful Private Client team.

You will manage a varied caseload, working alongside experienced solicitors within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role\nThe successful candidate will handle a broad range of Private Client matters, providing expert support and guidance to clients throughout the estate planning and administration process.
Key Responsibilities\nWills & Estate Planning

- Conduct client meetings and provide clear advice on estate planning options, including inheritance tax planning. \n
- Draft wills of varying complexity, including mirror wills, discretionary trusts, life interest trusts, and business property provisions. \n
- Prepare supporting documents such as letters of wishes, guardianship clauses, and severance of joint tenancy forms. \n
- Advise on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and assist with registration where required. \n
- Ensure all documentation is prepared accurately and in line with professional standards. \n
Probate & Estate Administration
\n- \n
- Advise executors and administrators throughout the probate and estate administration process. \n
- Prepare grant applications, including grants of probate and letters of administration. \n
- Value estates, identify assets and liabilities, and prepare inheritance tax documentation where required. \n
- Manage estate administration from initial instruction through to final distribution. \n
- Liaise with financial institutions, beneficiaries, HMRC, HM Land Registry, and other third parties. \n
- Prepare estate accounts and deal with Trust Registration Service requirements where applicable. \n
- Identify potential contentious probate issues and escalate appropriately. \n
Caseload & Client Management
\n- \n
- Manage a varied personal caseload efficiently, meeting deadlines and service standards. \n
- Maintain regular communication with clients and third parties, providing clear updates throughout matters. \n
- Accurately record time, support billing processes, and contribute to departmental targets. \n
- Assist with supervision and development of junior team members where appropriate. \n
- Support business development and client relationship initiatives. \n
The successful candidate will have:

- Strong experience within a Private Client department. \n
- Excellent knowledge of wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, and estate planning. \n
- The ability to manage a caseload independently from instruction through to completion. \n
- Strong drafting skills with excellent attention to detail. \n
- Excellent communication and client care skills. \n
- A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive client matters. \n
- Experience using case management systems and legal technology, including MyHMCTS. \n
You will be expected to maintain high standards of professional practice, including:

- Compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations. \n
- Following AML, client due diligence, and data protection requirements. \n
- Maintaining accurate file records and documentation. \n
- Adhering to firm procedures and recognised Private Client best practice. \n
