Local Authority Planning Officer and Principal Planning Officer, Cumbria Pay rate up to £63 per hour Contract roles, Planning Officer and Principal Planning Officer Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Planning Officer and Principal Planning Officer in the Cumbria area. These are strongly hybrid roles based in Westmorland, you can mostly work from home, but you must be able to occasionally access the Penrith, Barrow and Kendal areas. Background\n

• The Development Management service is responsible for overseeing and managing the planning process to ensure that all new development proposals align with local and national planning policies.
\n

\n

• This service reviews planning applications, providing guidance to developers, residents, and stakeholders on compliance with regulations related to land use, design, sustainability, and environmental impact.
\n

\n

\n
• The service conduct assessments, facilitate public consultations, and collaborate with various departments to address concerns such as transport, infrastructure, and heritage conservation.
\n

\n

\n
• Additionally, the service enforces planning conditions, monitors ongoing developments, and addresses breaches in planning laws to support sustainable growth and maintain the character of the local area, balancing economic, environmental, and social considerations.

Rates\n

• Planning Officer, £40-45 per hour
\n

\n

\n
• Principal Planning Officer, £55-63 per hour
\n
