Job Description

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Contract Manager for our client, a housing association based in London.

\n

The successful post holder will lead the operational management and governance of a diverse portfolio of service contracts, ensuring contractual commitments are translated into high-quality service delivery. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the role will drive performance, strengthen compliance, manage risk and support continuous improvement across operational contracts.

\n

This role is a temporary contract with an initial contract length of 6 months with the possibility to extend. Hybrid working.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive contract management framework covering operational contracts, service level agreements and related contractual arrangements.
  • \n
  • Ensure contractual obligations are clearly understood and translated into effective day-to-day operational delivery.
  • \n
  • Establish and maintain effective governance and assurance processes to monitor contractual performance, compliance and risk.
  • \n
  • Act as the subject matter expert on contract management, providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and service teams.
  • \n
  • Monitor contractor and provider performance against agreed KPIs, service standards and contractual requirements.
  • \n
  • Conduct contract audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
  • \n
  • Identify contractual, operational and commercial risks, implementing corrective action plans where necessary.
  • \n
  • Investigate, document and resolve contractual breaches, performance issues and areas of non-compliance, escalating significant issues where appropriate.
  • \n
  • Manage contract variations, change control processes and contractual amendments, ensuring all changes are accurately documented and effectively implemented.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, service providers, local authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Produce high-quality reports, performance information and recommendations for senior management and governance boards.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement across contract management processes, systems and reporting.
  • \n
  • Promote value for money, accountability and high standards of service delivery across all contracted services.
  • \n
  • Support organisational objectives through effective contract governance, operational oversight and performance management.
  • \n

Personal Requirements:

  • Significant experience in contract management, governance or operational service management.
  • \n
  • Experience managing complex contractual arrangements within a service-led operational environment.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of contract governance, compliance, assurance and performance management.
  • \n
  • Ability to interpret contractual documentation and translate contractual obligations into practical operational delivery.
  • \n
  • Experience developing and implementing contract management frameworks, KPIs, service level agreements and performance measures.
  • \n
  • Experience monitoring contractor and supplier performance, identifying risks and driving service improvements.
  • \n
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships across internal teams and external partners.
  • \n
  • Experience conducting audits, compliance reviews and performance assessments.
  • \n
  • Ability to investigate and resolve contractual issues, disputes and performance concerns.
  • \n
  • Experience managing contract variations, change control processes and contractual amendments.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and presenting information to senior stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Ability to influence, challenge constructively and lead without direct line management responsibility.
  • \n
  • Commercial awareness with a strong focus on delivering value for money and effective service outcomes.
  • \n
  • Experience working within housing, student accommodation, healthcare or other service-led operational environments would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and maintaining high professional standards.

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

\n

Pay: £36.59 per hour (Rate Negotiable).

\n

Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
