Fletcher George Recruitment is working with a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in Farnham, Surrey, to recruit an Audit Senior as part of the continued growth of its audit team.

This Audit Senior opportunity offers exposure to a broad and varied client portfolio across Surrey and the South East. It will suit an ACA or ACCA-qualified auditor looking for greater responsibility, interesting client work and continued professional development within a supportive and inclusive accountancy practice.

The Audit Senior Role

As an Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality audit assignments from planning through to completion.

The firm’s Farnham office supports a diverse client base which includes owner-managed businesses, UK subsidiaries of international groups and not-for-profit organisations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing audit engagements from planning through to completion
\n
• Working closely with clients to understand their operations, systems and key business risks
\n
• Identifying internal control weaknesses and providing practical, tailored recommendations
\n
• Preparing and reviewing audit documentation in line with UK auditing standards
\n
• Reviewing the work of junior team members and providing constructive feedback
\n
• Supporting and mentoring trainees throughout audit assignments
\n
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting requirements and best practice
\n
• Building strong client relationships through clear communication and consistently high-quality service
\n
• Working closely with Audit Managers and Partners to ensure assignments are delivered within agreed timescales
\n

About You

The successful Audit Senior will ideally have:

\n
• ACA or ACCA qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification
\n
• Recent external audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
\n
• Experience leading or supervising audit assignments
\n
• A strong understanding of UK auditing standards and compliance procedures
\n
• Confident written and verbal communication skills
\n
• Client-facing experience and the ability to build effective working relationships
\n
• A proactive, organised and collaborative approach
\n
• Experience using cloud-based accounting systems and audit software
\n

Location

The office is based near Farnham, Surrey, and is commutable from Guildford, Godalming, Camberley, Aldershot, Farnborough, Haslemere and surrounding areas.
