Join our team as a Senior Building SurveyorWere looking for an experienced and driven Senior Building Surveyor to join our Planned Works and Contract team. You'll lead a team of surveying professionals and play a key role in ensuring our housing assets are maintained to the highest standards, delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality homes for our customers.This is an excellent opportunity to lead complex projects and programmes, influence service improvements, and help shape the future of our housing stock while working as part of a collaborative and values-driven organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Project Team, ensuring projects and programmes are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Manage large and complex building projects from inception through to completion.Develop and implement effective project and action plans to deliver successful outcomes.Provide professional and technical advice to colleagues, consultants, contractors and partners.Support the development and delivery of asset management projects that meet customer and organisational needs.Oversee procurement activities to ensure value for money and the best outcomes for customers and the organisation.Maintain accurate and auditable project records, including financial monitoring, handover documentation and operational manuals.Conduct and oversee building inspections, surveys and condition assessments, producing detailed technical reports.Drive continuous improvement through the review of working practices and the development of colleagues.Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all decisions and interactions, using inclusive language and celebrating differences.Identify, report and share learning from Health & Safety issues.What youll need to succeedDegree in Building Construction, or an HNC/HND in Building Construction.Full UK driving licence.Evidence of continued professional development.Previous line management experience, including setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting professional development.Building industry experience, ideally within housing repairs, maintenance or planned works.Significant experience carrying out building inspections, surveys and condition assessments.Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, monitor and deliver complex projects.In-depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning policies and construction standards.Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Awaab's Law and wider Health & Safety requirements.Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools.DesirableTechnical qualifications or specialist training in areas such as CDM, Asbestos, Fire Safety, Expert Witness or HHSRS.Experience managing large and complex building projects from inception to completion.Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, CAFM systems or similar industry software.Housing sector knowledge.Strong commercial awareness and ability to demonstrate value for money.What we offerCompetitive salary Grade 6Stable, full-time employment with meaningful workGenerous annual leave starting at 27 days, rising to 32 days after 5 years, plus bank holidaysBirthday day off paid leave on your birthdayBuy or sell annual leave optionsLocal bank holiday around New YearEnhanced maternity, paternity and adoption payFree on-site parking at key office locationsEmployee Assistance Programme wellbeing support for you and your familyCycle to Work & Car Leasing schemesPension scheme with life insurance coverPerkbox discounts, rewards and wellbeing resourcesHealthcare cash plan claim back dental, optical, physio costs and moreLearning & development opportunitiesUp to 5 paid volunteer days per yearTPBN1_UKTJ
