Multi-Skilled Operative (Commercial & Secure Environment)Location: HMP Cardiff Permanent | Full-Time Your New RoleHays are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Operative to join a facilities maintenance team delivering planned and reactive maintenance within a large commercial and secure site environment in Cardiff.Working across a busy operational facility, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of building fabric repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring the site remains safe, compliant and fully operational. This role offers a diverse workload and would suit someone who enjoys working independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.Due to the nature of the site, all work must be completed in line with strict security, safety and compliance procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned and reactive building maintenance repairs.Complete a range of trade tasks including:Joinery and carpentry repairsBasic tilingMinor plumbing worksMinor plastering and patch repairsGeneral building fabric maintenanceInternal and external decoratingEnsure all works are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles.Accurately record works completed using handheld technology.Comply with all health, safety and security requirements.Work collaboratively with site teams and other trades.Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required.What You'll Need to SucceedNVQ Level 2, City & Guilds or equivalent trade qualification.Experience working within commercial, facilities management, public sector or secure environments.Strong carpentry/joinery skills with the ability to undertake a variety of multi-trade tasks.Good understanding of health and safety procedures.Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.Full UK Driving Licence.What You'll Get in ReturnCompetitive salary.Generous annual leave entitlement.Pension scheme.Ongoing training and development opportunities.Stable, long-term employment within an essential service environment.Opportunity to work on a unique and secure site with a varied and interesting workload.Apply NowIf you're a skilled maintenance professional looking for a secure, long-term opportunity within a commercial facilities environment, we'd like to hear from you.Apply today or contact Hays for a confidential discussion regarding this opportunity.
