Data Engineer | Manchester (3 days per week in the office) | up to £60k + benefitsAzure | Microsoft Fabric | Data Platform
\nWe're looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join a growing data platform team, building the pipelines and integrations that power analytics and operational systems across the business.
\nYou'll work in a modern Azure environment centred on Microsoft Fabric and medallion architecture, partnering closely with data analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, governed data products.
\nWhat you'll be doing

- Designing and maintaining scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric pipelines \n
- Implementing medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) across the data platform \n
- Building reliable ingestion from APIs, databases, flat files, and event streams \n
- Supporting master data management, data quality rules, and golden record definition \n
- Working hands-on with ADLS, Azure SQL, Event Hubs, Delta Lake, and OneLake \n
- Designing integration patterns and REST APIs to support near real-time data flows \n
- Contributing to infrastructure-as-code and environment provisioning in Azure \n
What you'll bring
\n- \n
- Solid hands-on data engineering experience - pipelines, ETL/ELT, and data modelling \n
- Strong Azure Data Factory experience \n
- Experience with, or strong interest in, Microsoft Fabric (lakehouse and pipeline capabilities) \n
- Practical understanding of medallion architecture \n
- Strong Python and/or SQL skills for transformation, automation, and quality checks \n
- API integration experience and solid grasp of integration design patterns \n
- Good working knowledge of Azure services: ADLS, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Event Hubs \n
Nice to have
\n- \n
- Fabric Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Data Pipelines experience \n
- Exposure to streaming/event-driven patterns (Event Hubs, Kafka) \n
- CI/CD and version control experience (Git, Azure DevOps) \n
- Data governance / Microsoft Purview knowledge \n
- Background in a high-volume operational or analytical environment \n
