We are seeking an experienced Technical Supervisor to oversee repairs and maintenance delivery across one of the following workstreams:

  • Responsive Repairs
  • \n
  • Damp & Mould
  • \n
  • Voids
  • \n
  • Planned & Complex Repairs
  • \n
\n

You will be responsible for supervising a team of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring repairs are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to a high standard. The role acts as a key link between residents, contractors, planning teams, customer services, and management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trades-qualified professional with supervisory experience within social housing, property maintenance, or repairs environments.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Supervise operatives and subcontractors across repairs and maintenance activities.
  • \n
  • Plan and coordinate daily workloads to ensure service targets are achieved.
  • \n
  • Undertake pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections, and post-inspections.
  • \n
  • Monitor repair quality, productivity, and compliance with KPIs and service standards.
  • \n
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operatives and wider teams.
  • \n
  • Manage contractor performance against agreed service levels.
  • \n
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • \n
  • Monitor budgets, labour utilisation, materials, vehicles, tools, and equipment to achieve value for money.
  • \n
  • Produce performance reports and identify opportunities for service improvements.
  • \n
  • Support training, performance management, and development of operatives and trainees.
  • \n
  • Build positive relationships with residents and resolve complaints professionally and effectively.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with management teams to support maintenance strategies and service delivery objectives.
  • \n
  • Participate in an out-of-hours repairs and maintenance rota.
  • \n
About You\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    \n
  • Experience supervising repairs and maintenance teams within social housing, property services, or a similar environment.
  • \n
  • A recognised trade qualification (e.g. Plumbing, Carpentry, Building Maintenance or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Experience within responsive repairs, damp & mould, voids, or planned maintenance programmes.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and construction practices.
  • \n
  • Experience managing contractors and monitoring performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • \n
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational and workload management skills.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • \n
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance.
  • \n
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • \n
Desirable\n
    \n
  • IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • \n
  • Experience working within a social housing landlord or contractor environment.
  • \n
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • \n
