\nCover People UK are currently recruiting for an Assistant SENDCo to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in North Manchester from 1st September. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a large, experienced SEND team within a school that is committed to delivering outstanding support for students with additional needs.
\nThe role is initially for at least one full term, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The school has one of the highest numbers of EHCPs in Greater Manchester, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SEND environment and is passionate about ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed.
\nWe are ideally looking for candidates who have previously worked as an Assistant SENDCo, although applicants with experience in similar SEND leadership or coordination roles are also encouraged to apply. This is a senior position requiring excellent initiative, strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated SEND team.
\nYou will play a key role in supporting the SENDCo with the day-to-day management of SEND provision, coordinating meetings with external agencies and parents/carers, contributing to EHCP reviews, and ensuring students receive high-quality, tailored support across the school.

Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Support the SENDCo with the coordination and delivery of SEND provision across the school. \n
- Help manage a large caseload of students with EHCPs and additional learning needs. \n
- Arrange and lead meetings with parents/carers, external agencies and professionals. \n
- Contribute to annual reviews, EHCP documentation and SEND administration. \n
- Liaise effectively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, senior leaders and outside agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support. \n
- Monitor student progress and help implement targeted interventions where required. \n
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues to promote inclusive teaching practices. \n
- Work proactively as part of a large SEND team, using initiative to manage priorities and support the wider department. \n
- Promote positive outcomes and advocate for students with additional needs across the school. \n

- Previous experience as an Assistant SENDCo is highly desirable. \n
- Candidates with experience in similar SEND coordination, inclusion or senior support roles will also be considered. \n
- Excellent knowledge of SEND processes, including EHCPs and annual reviews. \n
- Confidence communicating with families, external agencies and multi-disciplinary professionals. \n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload. \n
- A proactive, resilient and collaborative approach. \n
- Experience working within a secondary school setting is preferred. \n
