Job Description
CNC Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional to play a key role in developing and maintaining a robust Health & Safety Management System within a quality-driven manufacturing environment.
\nWorking closely with the Quality Manager, you will support the implementation of health and safety strategies, ensure compliance with UK legislation, and promote a positive safety culture across the organisation. This is a hands-on role where you'll work collaboratively with managers and employees to drive continuous improvement and embed best practices throughout the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety Management\n- \n
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the company's Health & Safety Management System. \n
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation and industry standards. \n
- Develop, review and update health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work. \n
- Provide practical health and safety advice and guidance to managers and employees. \n
- Monitor legislative changes and recommend improvements to maintain compliance. \n
- Contribute to health and safety objectives and continuous improvement initiatives. \n

- Conduct workplace inspections and audits to identify risks and opportunities for improvement. \n
- Carry out and review risk assessments, ensuring effective control measures are implemented. \n
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventative actions. \n
- Monitor the completion of corrective actions to ensure issues are resolved effectively. \n
- Support regulatory inspections and customer audits relating to health and safety. \n
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation. \n

- Deliver health and safety inductions for new employees and contractors. \n
- Coordinate and support health and safety training programmes. \n
- Promote a positive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness campaigns. \n
- Encourage proactive reporting of hazards, near misses and improvement opportunities. \n
- Support Health & Safety Committee meetings and follow up on agreed actions. \n

- Assist in maintaining emergency response procedures, including fire safety and evacuation plans. \n
- Coordinate emergency drills and business preparedness activities. \n
- Monitor first aid, fire safety and workplace welfare arrangements. \n
- Liaise with occupational health providers and specialist safety consultants where required. \n
- Support environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management and environmental awareness. \n
We're looking for an organised and knowledgeable Health & Safety professional who can confidently engage with people at all levels of the business and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements\n- \n
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment. \n
- Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. \n
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification). \n
- Experience carrying out workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments. \n
- Experience investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions. \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. \n
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail. \n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. \n
- \n
- Experience within aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing sector. \n
- Internal Auditor qualification. \n
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. \n
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems. \n
