Job Description

We're looking for an exceptional fire safety leader to act as SNG's Landlord's Responsible Person, providing expert leadership, assurance and direction across our portfolio. This is a significant opportunity to influence organisational strategy, oversee critical fire safety programmes and ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative obligations, while championing a culture of continuous improvement and resident safety.

This role will cover the whole of SNG's estate therefore we are flexible in location, although there will be meetings in Wembley and Basingstoke.

The role:

\n

Reporting to the Head of Landlord Fire Safety and working closely with the Director of Building Safety & Compliance, this pivotal role provides oversight and assurance across all fire safety compliance activities at Sovereign Network Group (SNG). Acting as the organisation's Responsible Person for Fire Safety, you will ensure that SNG consistently meets its statutory, regulatory and landlord obligations, while delivering safe outcomes for customers and maintaining the highest standards of building safety compliance.

As the organisation's fire safety subject matter expert, you will lead the strategic management of fire risk across our housing portfolio, driving compliance through the effective delivery of fire risk assessment programmes, remedial works, contractor management and quality assurance processes. You will provide expert technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders, maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies including the Primary Fire Authority, and ensure the organisation remains ahead of legislative and regulatory changes.

You will play a critical role in protecting our customers, supporting organisational compliance and embedding a positive, customer-focused culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement across SNG.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of leading a team of fire subject matter experts within the Housing Sector
  • \n
  • A Membership of the IFE / IFSM or an equivalent membership body
  • \n
  • An up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation, building safety act and building regulations
  • \n
  • Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety as a minimum, Level 5 desirable
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate responsibilities to data users and assure the proper use of data within their domain
  • \n
  • Ability to validate and impact assess, to escalate data issues as required
  • \n
  • Knowledge of methods to monitor the quality of data and identify issues e.g reconciliation
  • \n
  • Understanding of data breaches, associated implications and industry standards of preventing / triaging a breach
  • \n
  • Experience working within a fire safety field both independently and as part of a team
  • \n
