Our client is a leading public sector emergency services organisation supporting frontline operations across Greater London. They are seeking a Protective Equipment Group (PEG) Technician to join their Operations Support Group based in Croydon.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a specialist team responsible for maintaining critical operational equipment that supports emergency response activities.

\n

The Role

\n

Reporting to the Breathable Air & Data Analysis Manager and Respiratory Protective Equipment Manager, the Protective Equipment Group (PEG) Technician will play a key role in the charging, maintenance, transportation, and administration of respiratory protective equipment and associated operational assets.

\n

Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

\n

The role may also involve working at satellite facilities across Greater London, including Barking and Park Royal.

\n

Key Responsibilities

Protective Equipment

\n
    \n
  • Charge compressed air cylinders and maintain associated equipment.
  • \n
  • Support the maintenance and upkeep of Operational Support Group equipment.
  • \n
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with current procedures, legislation, and safety standards.
  • \n
  • Transport, move and handle equipment across operational locations as required.
  • \n

Administration & Communication

\n
    \n
  • Maintain accurate manual and electronic records relating to equipment and stores.
  • \n
  • Use computerised systems to enter, retrieve and update information.
  • \n
  • Send and receive emails and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • \n
\n

Health, Safety & Equality

  • Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • \n
  • Adhere to Display Screen Equipment (DSE) guidelines.
  • \n

General Duties

  • Travel to other sites and establishments throughout Greater London as required.
  • \n
  • Lift and carry equipment in accordance with manual handling guidelines.
  • \n
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.

Essential Requirements

\n

Full clean UK driving licence Comfortable driving medium-sized vans Good IT skills, including experience using computer systems and email Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills Ability to follow procedures and work to high safety standards Physically capable of lifting and carrying equipment safely Reliable team player with a positive and proactive attitude
