Job Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Lead and oversee all tax aspects of corporate M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and post-deal integration.
  • \n
  • Provide commercial-focused tax advice to senior stakeholders on deal strategy, financing, and risk management.
  • \n
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, and business teams to ensure tax efficiency and compliance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • \n
  • Manage the preparation and review of tax filings, disclosures, and reporting associated with M&A activities.
  • \n
  • Monitor and interpret changes in UK tax legislation and assess their impact on current and future deals.
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain robust tax models to evaluate deal economics and identify potential tax savings.
  • \n
  • Mentor and supervise junior tax staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
  • \n
  • Represent the organisation in external negotiations and liaise with tax authorities, advisers, and auditors as required.
  • \n
Essential Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Qualified tax professional (e.g., Chartered Tax Adviser – CTA) or equivalent certification.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax, capital gains tax, and international tax principles.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-value transactions simultaneously.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in tax research tools, Excel modelling, and relevant tax software.
  • \n
Desired Experience\n
    \n
  • 5–7 years of experience in tax advisory or in-house tax roles focusing on M&A and deal structuring.
  • \n
  • Proven track record of delivering tax-efficient solutions in complex corporate transactions.
  • \n
  • Experience within a professional services firm, multinational corporation, or private-equity environment.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • \n
  • International exposure or experience with cross-border transactions is a plus.
