Finance Business Partner (9 month FTC)

JSS are supporting a well established business based in Aylesbury in the search for a Finance Business Partner to join its commercial finance team on a 9 month FTC This is an excellent opportunity to join the organisation during a significant period of transformation, where you will play a key role in supporting financial performance, driving commercial insight, and influencing decision making across the business. There is also potential for longer term opportunities for the successful individual as the finance function continues to evolve.

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, you will partner closely with senior stakeholders across the Commercial and HR functions, delivering meaningful analysis, robust financial reporting, forecasting and strategic support. Acting as a trusted business partner, you will provide constructive challenge, identify risks and opportunities, and help shape key commercial decisions.

This role would suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys operating in a fast paced environment, building strong stakeholder relationships, and influencing business performance through high-quality financial insight rather than purely traditional management accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end to end monthly reporting process for designated business areas.
\n
• Prepare management accounts, accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
\n
• Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary to explain business performance.
\n
• Produce and present financial reports to senior stakeholders and budget holders.
\n
• Lead monthly performance reviews with departmental directors and management teams.
\n
• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and longer-term financial planning activities.
\n
• Build strong relationships with operational leaders, providing challenge, insight and decision support.
\n
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and help drive performance improvement initiatives.
\n
• Assist with business cases, investment appraisals and ad hoc financial projects.
\n
• Contribute to process improvement, financial controls and reporting enhancements.

About You

\n
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner or Commercial Finance role.
\n
• Strong month-end accounting knowledge, including accruals, prepayments and financial reporting.
\n
• Experience owning budgets, forecasts and management reporting processes.
\n
• The confidence to present financial information and challenge stakeholders at manager and director level.
\n
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insight.
\n
• Advanced Excel capabilities and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
\n
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
\n
• Part-qualified, QBE or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification
\n
• Demonstrable management accounting experience is essential.
