Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £48K
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm) No weekend

The Role

\n

We are seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing site in Watford. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience gained within a regulated manufacturing environment.

\n

You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities across a range of production equipment and site services, ensuring high levels of reliability, safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment.
  • \n
  • Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on automated manufacturing machinery.
  • \n
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • \n
  • Work on conveyors, motors, drives, sensors and control systems.
  • \n
  • Support site utilities including HVAC, steam systems, compressed air and water systems.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with GMP standards and engineering safety procedures.
  • \n
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), isolation and safe working procedures.
  • \n
  • Assist with continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • \n

Candidate Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Apprentice-trained Engineer with an electrical bias.
  • \n
  • Previous experience within pharmaceutical, food, FMCG or manufacturing environments.
  • \n
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
  • \n
  • Good understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
  • \n
  • Experience with motors, drives, sensors, conveyors and control panels.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance practices.
  • \n
  • Understanding of GMP, engineering compliance and health & safety procedures.
  • \n
  • Familiar with LOTO and isolation procedures.
  • \n

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of utilities and site services including HVAC, boilers, compressed air and purified water systems.
  • \n
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • \n
