About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH Maths Teacher to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Working with small class sizes, you will deliver engaging Maths lessons that inspire confidence, build numeracy skills, and support students to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
\n
• Create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
\n
• Support students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional barriers to learning.
\n
• Develop personalised learning strategies and differentiated resources.
\n
• Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to EHCP targets where appropriate.
\n
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, therapists, and parents/carers.
\n
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and student wellbeing.
\n

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

\n
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
\n
• Experience teaching Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable).
\n
• A strong understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice.
\n
• Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.
\n
• The ability to engage and motivate students who may have had negative educational experiences.
\n
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
\n
