\nI have partnered with a private family office who are looking to hire an experienced Accountant ideally with proven experience in a high-net worth, private family office setting.
\nThis role requires proficiency in Xero & ideally Sage 50 with a keen eye for detail, adaptability and strong accounting fundamentals.
\nDay-to-day of the role:

- Maintain accurate accounting records using Xero & Sage 50 across multiple entities. \n
- Conduct weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for various accounts. \n
- Manage supplier invoices, ensuring timely and accurate postings in the accounting system. \n
- Handle sales invoices, including raising, posting, and reconciling them as required. \n
- Process both debtor and creditor invoices, maintaining precise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers. \n
- Reconcile and manage company/family credit card statements with correct expense coding. \n
- Prepare and process payments including supplier payments and employee expense reimbursements. \n
- Allocate receipts and payments against customer and supplier accounts accurately. \n
- Monitor outstanding balances and assist in resolving account queries. \n
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations. \n
- Assist in monthly expense reporting and the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. \n
- Support month-end and year-end close processes ensuring completeness and accuracy of records. \n
- Maintain fixed asset registers and liaise with banks regarding account management. \n
- Serve as a point of contact for external stakeholders like auditors and accountants, providing necessary financial information and documentation. \n
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and annual audits. \n
- Maintain systematic filing of financial records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information. \n
- Provide administrative and financial support to the Family Office team and undertake ad hoc duties as needed. \n
Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Proficient in using Xero and ideally Sage 50 Accounting Software. \n
- Strong experience in bank reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoice processing, and month-end procedures. \n
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles. \n
- Experience in managing multiple entities is desirable. \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and within a team. \n
- Professional and discreet, adept at handling confidential information. \n
