About the company & role The company provides specialist rental equipment and tailored solutions to customers across the construction, industrial, utilities and infrastructure sectors. Safety, service and equipment reliability are central to everything the company does.As a Generator Engineer Power, you will be the main point of contact on customer sites, managing the delivery, installation, commissioning and handover of generators and associated equipment. You will also provide ongoing technical support, complete preventative maintenance and assist with the safe decommissioning and removal of rental equipment. This is a varied, hands-on role involving nationwide travel, occasional overnight stays and workshop-based maintenance at the Brigg branch.Package Basic salary up to £41,000 per yearOvertime paid at 1.5x and 2x rates£250 per week on-call standby allowancePrivate medical cover22 days annual holiday plus bank holidays40-hour working week, Monday to FridayOngoing coaching and technical trainingOpportunities for personal and professional developmentInternational, service-focused working environmentEqual-opportunity and inclusive workplaceResponsibilities Deliver, install, commission, decommission and remove generators, pumps, filtration equipment and tanks from customer sitesComplete mechanical servicing, inspections, repairs and fault findingDiagnose faults involving electrical, mechanical and diesel-powered systemsHand over equipment to customers and provide clear instructions on its safe and correct operationSupport the preparation and delivery of operational projects involving mechanical, electrical and diesel systemsRevisit customer sites to resolve faults and complete preventative maintenanceCarry out workshop-based inspections and repairs to maximise rental fleet availability and reliabilityMonitor parts inventory and help maintain appropriate minimum stock levelsProvide technical guidance and support to other members of the operations teamComplete worksheets, service records and required safety training accuratelyRequirements Strong electrical knowledge supported by mechanical, diesel or pump experiencePrevious experience in a service engineer, service technician, generator engineer or similar field-based rolePractical experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on generators or related equipmentFull Category B driving licenceAbility to work independently and as part of a wider operational teamWillingness to travel throughout the UK and complete occasional overnight staysGood written and verbal communication skillsBasic IT skills for completing worksheets, service records and online safety trainingProactive, flexible and customer-focused approachPrevious experience within the plant, equipment hire or rental industry would be advantageousWhat next?
