Accounts Payable Supervisor
LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable distribution-focused organization seeking an AP Supervisor to lead a merchandise-related Accounts Payable team in a high-volume inventory environment. This is a hands-on leadership role with significant interaction across Purchasing, Inventory, Merchandising, and Operations departments. The ideal candidate will bring strong purchase order, vendor management, and inventory-related AP experience while driving process improvements and team development.
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19154 Schedule: Fully Onsite Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor a team responsible for merchandise and inventory-related accounts payable processing.
  • Oversee invoice processing, purchase order matching, and exception resolution to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
  • Partner with Purchasing and Inventory teams to investigate and resolve pricing, receiving, and quantity discrepancies.
  • Monitor merchandise-related transactions to ensure proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Review vendor statements, reconciliations, and open item reporting to ensure account accuracy.
  • Analyze invoice and inventory trends, identify process improvements, and support automation initiatives.
  • Maintain KPIs and reporting related to invoice volume, processing efficiency, vendor performance, and exception management.
  • Assist with inventory audits, month-end close activities, and annual audit support.
  • Train, develop, and support team members while fostering a collaborative, customer-service-focused environment.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and accounting best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience within a distribution, inventory, wholesale, retail, or manufacturing environment.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong understanding of purchase orders, inventory transactions, merchandise payables, and vendor management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
