Job Title: Special Education Physical Education (PE) Teacher

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Special Education Physical Education Teacher to provide adaptive physical education instruction for students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will develop inclusive activities that promote physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles while supporting each student's individual abilities.

Primary Duties:

Plan and deliver adaptive physical education lessons for students with varying abilities
Modify activities, equipment, and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
Implement accommodations and goals outlined in students' IEPs
Promote physical fitness, motor development, teamwork, and lifelong wellness
Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Collaborate with special education staff, therapists, and school administrators
Support students' behavioral, social, and emotional development during physical activities
Communicate with families and school staff regarding student progress
Participate in IEP meetings and other required school activities

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, Special Education, or a related field
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Physical Education and/or Special Education (or ability to obtain appropriate certification)
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
Knowledge of adaptive physical education practices and IEP implementation
Strong classroom and behavior management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
