\nThe Endocrinology Section at the Portland VA Medical Center is seeking an outstanding Academic General Endocrinologist to join a highly collaborative and mission-driven Endocrine program in Portland, Oregon. Clinical Responsibilities
\nThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive Endocrine and Diabetes care across multiple clinical settings including:

Outpatient continuity Endocrinology and Diabetes clinics
\n - \n
Inpatient Endocrinology consult service
\n - \n
Telemedicine and electronic consultation services
\n
Clinical responsibilities may also include:
\n- \n
- \n
Management of insulin pumps for patients with diabetes both inpatient and outpatient
\n - \n
Thyroid Ultrasound and FNA and participation in Head & Neck Tumor Board
\n
Academic Mission & Teaching
\nTeaching is a core mission of the Endocrinology team. Faculty work closely with medical students, Internal Medicine residents, and Endocrinology fellows from Oregon Health & Science University in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in:

Be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology

Have completed an accredited Endocrinology fellowship

Be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure

Demonstrate strong clinical and interpersonal skills

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
\n - \n
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year, and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
\n - \n
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Job Requirements
\nU.S. Citizenship. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Subject to background/security investigation. Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation.
