Position Summary

The DOM is responsible for the overall administration and management of the Airlines maintenance program, ensuring all company aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition and in full compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and maintenance procedures.

The DOM will provide oversight and leadership for maintenance operations in Boulder City Nevada, and Arizona. The DOM will oversee maintenance planning, inspections, repairs, personnel development, regulatory compliance, and the continuous improvement of maintenance operations throughout the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Airworthiness Directives, and company maintenance programs.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the Company's Maintenance Manual, Operations Specifications, and applicable maintenance provisions under 14 CFR Part 135.

  • Serve as the Company's principal authority on maintenance-related regulatory matters and FAA compliance.

Maintenance Leadership

  • Direct and coordinate all aircraft inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and return-to-service processes.

  • Monitor daily maintenance operations to ensure fleet reliability and operational readiness.

  • Review aircraft discrepancy reports and completed maintenance records.

  • Establish and maintain maintenance procedures and best practices.

Operational Management

  • Oversee maintenance activities at all company locations and outstations.

  • Ensure proper tools, equipment, facilities, and calibration standards are maintained.

  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling with operational departments to minimize aircraft downtime.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and efficient maintenance facilities.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Develop, manage, and monitor the maintenance department budget.

  • Control maintenance expenditures while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

  • Review maintenance costs, forecast budget needs, and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.

  • Approve maintenance-related purchases and ensure effective utilization of department resources.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to develop, manage, and monitor the maintenance department budget.

  • Present maintenance budget forecasts, capital expenditure requests, and operational performance metrics to executive leadership.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance supervisors and mechanics.

  • Provide staffing leadership through effective hiring, training, scheduling, and workforce planning.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Safety Management

  • Ensure all safety procedures and instructions are followed.

  • Oversee hazardous materials and chemical control programs.

  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.

Experience Requirements

  • Meet the qualifications outlined in 14 CFR Part 119.69.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing aircraft maintenance teams and programs, leading supervising maintenance personnel.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience developing and managing aircraft maintenance budgets, cost control, forecasting, expenditures, and controlling operating costs. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, reporting, data analysis, pivot tables).

  • Current or previous experience serving as a Director of Maintenance (DOM) or Assistant Director of Maintenance for a Part 135 Fixed-Wing operator.

  • Experience with de Havilland Twin Otter (DHC-6), Cessna 208B aircraft preferred.

  • Part 135 operations and thorough knowledge of FAA regulations governing aircraft maintenance.

  • Minimum of three (3) years certificated FAA A&P experience, FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.

  • Experience managing multi-base maintenance operations.

  • Strong background in reliability programs, maintenance planning, and FAA audits.

  • Proven experience building and developing high-performing maintenance teams.

  • Previous experience supporting FAA Certificate Management Office (CMO) or Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) inspections preferred.
