This full-time, contract opportunity covers the 2026-2027 school year, with placements available in PreK, self-contained K-2 classrooms, middle school resource settings, and as a gifted specialist. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Alabama Special Education Teacher Certification required
- Experience teaching or supporting students with diverse needs, including those in self-contained, resource, or inclusion environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Dedication to individualizing instruction and fostering positive learning environments
- Flexibility and adaptability to support varying grade levels and programmatic needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
- Facilitate small group and one-on-one learning as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related services staff, and administration on student progress and accommodations
- Track and document student performance, growth, and compliance with IEP objectives
- Communicate proactively with families about student development and any support services
- Contribute to a supportive, inclusive school culture focused on student empowerment
