Temporary Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a medical leave. This role requires a professional who thrives in a high-volume environment, can work independently, oversee the quality of others' work, and quickly identify solutions to complex accounting and collections challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a high-volume accounts receivable portfolio and collection activities
  • Perform payment application and cash posting with a high degree of accuracy
  • Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balances
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, deductions, short payments, and account issues
  • Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate records within the ERP system
  • Support and oversee the accuracy of AR-related work performed by team members, providing guidance as needed
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external customers to resolve billing and payment issues
  • Analyze trends, identify process improvements, and implement effective solutions
  • Generate and maintain reports using advanced Excel functions
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable and Collections experience
  • Proven experience working in a high-volume transaction environment
  • Strong background in payment application and cash posting
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems for accounts receivable functions
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, data analysis, and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to review, coordinate, and oversee the work of others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent computer, system navigation, and data management skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work onsite in Valencia, CA for the duration of the assignment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume accounting environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
