Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher, providing focused support and expertise to middle and elementary school students for the 2026–2027 academic year. Multiple opportunities are available, with diverse roles at resource and center-based programs that serve students with behavioral needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. Positions are onsite and span from August 17, 2026, to June 3, 2027, in the Minneapolis area.

In these roles, you'll have the chance to leverage your skills in behavior management, individualized instruction, and collaboration with both general and special education staff. Candidates with a passion for implementing effective routines and fostering inclusive classroom environments will thrive.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential in one or more of the following Special Education areas: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS license accepted but not required)
  • Proven expertise in behavior intervention strategies and proactive problem-solving
  • Excellent attendance track record and strong professional references
  • Proficient knowledge of behavior plans, classroom management, and instructional strategies
  • Effective communicator able to collaborate with both teaching peers and paraprofessionals
  • Experience in cross-categorical or center-based special education settings highly valued

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction for students with diverse behavioral and learning needs
  • Develop and implement behavior plans and classroom routines
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education staff and paraprofessionals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication with families and staff
  • Adapt teaching strategies to foster student success in inclusive settings
