Job Description
Take on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher at multiple school sites serving students from elementary through high school. Six positions are currently open, each approved for a full-time 40-hour workweek. Teaching assignments include elementary, middle, and high school roles, featuring structured self-contained settings, resource classrooms, and a transition/pathways classroom supporting young adults aged 18-22 with life skills and learning activities. Current openings span connections classes for grades 5–6, resource ELA, and specialized environments with supportive, collaborative teaching teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Special Education Certificate meeting Arizona Department of Education criteria
- Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Experience in classroom management and IEP implementation
- Ability to adapt instructional methods for diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with elementary, middle, and/or high school curriculum and compliance standards
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored instruction in self-contained and resource settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Track student progress, prepare reports, and participate in parent/IEP meetings
- Collaborate with colleagues to create inclusive, supportive environments
- Utilize classroom time effectively, with hours allocated for prep, staffing, and reporting as needed (6.5-hour days in elementary, 6.75 in secondary)
- Provide mentorship to paraprofessionals, and benefit from a built-in mentoring network in the transition classroom
