Job Description
Make a real impact in the lives of students in the Chicago area as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis, working with a supportive team to deliver top-notch services. This opportunity spans the upcoming school year, beginning August 12, 2026, and covers K-12 students. You'll provide instruction and support to a manageable caseload of 13 students, helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current and valid LBS1 certification required
- Experience working with K-12 students in Special Education settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Passion for supporting diverse learners through tailored strategies
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality special education instruction to K-12 students
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in collaboration with families and school teams
- Track and report on student progress toward IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate individual needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with all relevant special education regulations
This full-time contract role offers a weekly schedule of 35 hours, Monday through Friday, providing a structured routine and a balanced workload. Compensation for this position ranges from $40-45 per hour, with weekly pay.
