Job Title: Special Education Music Teacher
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Type: Contract / Temporary
Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate Special Education Music Teacher to provide engaging, accessible music instruction for students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive classroom environment where students can develop musical skills, express creativity, and participate in meaningful learning experiences while supporting each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Primary Duties:
Plan and deliver music instruction tailored to students with varying abilities and learning styles
Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom materials to meet individual student needs
Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in students' IEPs
Foster creativity, self-expression, and participation through vocal, instrumental, and movement-based activities
Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with special education staff, related service providers, and general education teachers
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Communicate effectively with families and school staff regarding student growth
Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development through music education
Participate in IEP meetings and other required school meetings
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Special Education, or a related field
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Music Education and/or Special Education (or ability to obtain appropriate certification)
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
Knowledge of IEP implementation and differentiated instruction
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
