Job Description
Make a difference every day in the lives of students by bringing your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to vibrant schools in the Phoenix, AZ area. We are currently seeking six dedicated educators for contract positions across elementary, middle, and high school settings, with roles tailored to a variety of classroom structures and student needs. Full-time schedules are available, with approved 40-hour work weeks and flexible use of hours for classroom preparation, IEP meetings, staff collaboration, and supportive student activities.
Openings include:
- Elementary school positions (grades 5–6 Connections Program)
- Middle school settings: Structured Self-Contained classroom, ELA Resource, and general Resource classrooms
- High school Resource role
- A Transition/Pathways Self-Contained classroom for students aged 18–22, focused on life skills and supported by experienced colleagues in similar classrooms
Key qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Certificate meeting AZ Department of Education criteria
- Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Experience adapting curriculum and strategies to diverse learning needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to support collaboration with staff and families
Role responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to meet the needs outlined in student IEPs
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families
- Monitor and document student progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP development
- Engage in classroom prep, lesson planning, and professional development
