Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Oregon House, CA. The ideal candidate is committed to helping students with diverse learning needs reach their full potential by providing individualized instruction in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary team members.
Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to students' individual needs and learning styles.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of academic and behavioral performance.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational goals.
Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior management techniques.
Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid California Education Specialist Teaching Credential (or eligibility to obtain one).
Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting preferred.
Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and California special education regulations.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with mild/moderate or extensive support needs.
Familiarity with assistive technology and differentiated instruction.
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
