Step into an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of K-12 students as a contract Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year near Elkhart, IN. Starting August 10th, 2026 through May 27th, 2027, you'll play a vital role in supporting a diverse student population and helping every learner reach their full potential.

In this full-time position, you will work 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, serving students with a range of mild to intense intervention needs. Caseload size varies, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience where your skills and expertise will shine.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Mild/Intense Intervention Certification
  • Experience working with K-12 students with a variety of learning differences
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to adapt instruction and intervention in response to student needs
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to student goals and abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Track and report student progress, maintaining detailed records
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team planning
  • Foster positive, respectful relationships with students and colleagues
