Location: Columbus, GA
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Setting: Outpatient Community Mental Health
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Crisis Mental Health Clinician to join a collaborative behavioral health crisis response team. In this role, you will work alongside first responders to provide on-site crisis intervention, mental health assessments, de-escalation, safety planning, and referrals to appropriate community resources. Key Responsibilities
Respond to behavioral health crisis calls with police, fire, and EMS personnel.
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and determine appropriate interventions.
Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, safety planning, and short-term case management.
Connect individuals with mental health, substance use, and community support services, including emergency evaluations when appropriate.
Collaborate with emergency responders to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and incarcerations.
Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records.
Qualifications
Required
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
Active LCSW, LPC, LMHC, or equivalent state licensure.
1-2 years of experience in crisis intervention, emergency psychiatric services, community mental health, mobile crisis, or behavioral health.
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel locally.
Preferred
Experience working alongside law enforcement, EMS, fire departments, or co-response crisis teams.
Training in Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Motivational Interviewing, or Mental Health First Aid.
Knowledge of local behavioral health and community resources.
