Job Description
Step into a fulfilling contract role focused on delivering specialized support to students in dedicated programs for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), and Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) for the upcoming academic year. Multiple opportunities are available for skilled Special Education professionals to join diverse middle and elementary school teams, working onsite and making a real difference in students’ lives.
Ideal candidates will bring strong behavioral strategy experience, exceptional instructional techniques, and a collaborative spirit. This environment offers the opportunity to work cross-categorically, developing individualized plans for students and collaborating closely with paraprofessionals and general education staff. Some positions will focus on providing resource support at the middle school level, while others are dedicated to center-based programs for ASD and DCD.
Qualifications & Licensure Required:
- Current Minnesota teaching credential in at least one of the following:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
- Special Education: Early Childhood
- Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Special Education: Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS optional, not required)
- Documented experience with behavior intervention, classroom structure, and instructional strategies
- Excellent attendance record and reliability
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with colleagues and paraprofessionals regarding student needs and program schedules
- Develop behavior support plans and classroom routines
- Provide effective instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities across various settings
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
