Job Description

Job Title: Field Technician 3 Job Location: Norfolk, VA Job Summary Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Field Technician 3 to support the Norfolk Flight Operations Department. The selected candidate will provide technical support and maintenance for the TAF RTBS at the unclassified level while supporting E-2C aircraft avionics and electrical systems. This position requires extensive field support, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and deployment to overseas (OCONUS) locations in support of operational missions. Key Responsibilities Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify E-2C avionics and electrical systems, equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on aircraft systems and associated support equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and restore operational capability. Analyze system performance and recommend corrective actions or improvements. Install, upgrade, and remove equipment while implementing approved engineering changes and field modifications. Support testing, military exercises, and operational missions at customer sites, including OCONUS deployments. Perform maintenance activities at customer and field locations while ensuring compliance with technical manuals and procedures. Provide technical assistance and support for the TAF RTBS program. Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and service records. Serve as a technical resource for resolving complex maintenance and operational issues. Build and maintain effective customer relationships through professional communication and technical support. Provide onsite guidance and training to customer support personnel when required. Work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring mission readiness and operational excellence. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in a technical discipline with 4+ years of specialized E-2C avionics experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of hands-on experience supporting E-2C Avionics and Electrical Systems. Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics, electrical systems, integrated systems, and subsystem maintenance. Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying complex avionics and electrical equipment. Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance documentation. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer support abilities. Must be willing and able to travel 100% OCONUS in support of customer operations.
