Job Opportunity: Cognitive Neurologist

Our organization is actively looking for a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Neurologist with fellowship training or a keen interest in Cognitive Neurology. This role will be part of our established Neurology team, focusing on our Comprehensive Dementia Program. The position is primarily outpatient and will be located at our facility on the MaineHealth Scarborough Campus, which features on-site MRI and neurodiagnostic labs.

The Comprehensive Dementia Program is supported by a multidisciplinary team, including another Cognitive Neurologist, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) specializing in dementia, neuropsychologists, psychometricians, dedicated nursing staff, a social worker, and a care navigator. There are also opportunities for involvement in dementia research through the MaineHealth Institute for Research, which has previously included participation in therapeutic drug trials. Our program is committed to delivering patient-centered care in a collaborative and innovative environment, working closely with geriatrics and geriatric psychiatry divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Join a well-established Neurology Department with sub-specialty trained Adult and Pediatric neurologists, Neurohospitalists, and Advanced Practice Professionals.
  • Collaborate with a robust clinical and administrative team, including on-site pharmacists, social workers, neuropsychologists, and psychometricians.
  • Participate in hospital admission services, stroke care, and telestroke care, with dedicated Neurohospitalists providing after-hours phone coverage.
  • Provide limited inpatient coverage, sharing daytime responsibilities on the neurology consult service for four to five weeks annually.
  • Engage in teaching opportunities for Neurology residents, fellows from various departments, and medical students.
Compensation and Benefits:

The total compensation package may include recruitment bonuses, relocation assistance, productivity incentives, and quality incentives, based on eligibility. The annual base salary for this position is set at $330,000.
