Role Overview

This position involves leading and coordinating unit staffing while ensuring the achievement of clinical goals and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct, educate, and supervise nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to performance evaluations.
  • Assess daily patient care requirements and allocate patient care assignments, ensuring appropriate care is provided.
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues impacting desired outcomes.
  • Address patient care complaints through established protocols.
  • Provide input on hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly communicate verbally to share information.
  • Frequent standing and walking required.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Regularly utilize hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms.
  • Occasional driving and physical movements such as bending and twisting.
Licensure and Certifications

Depending on the state of work location, the following certifications are required:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license from the respective state board
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - AHA, or equivalent certifications such as NRP or PALS.
Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts, with a commitment of 36 hours per week.
